Together Apart - Director Biography - Michael J. Krym
Born in Caserta, Italy, in 1988, Polish-Canadian writer & director, Michael J. Krym, immigrated to Canada in 1990. He began as a literary novelist with his works, Eidos: A Search for Home (2014), and, Love & Garbage (2016). Moving into theatre, he won the Western Ontario Drama League's (WODL), Award of Merit for Playwriting, for his original work, Okno (2017), and was later awarded the Windsor Endowment for the Arts for his commemorative WWII play, Imaginary Lines (2019). Since, Michael has worked as both a writer and producer for Helios Films, and other indie filmmakers across Southwestern Ontario. Featured works include, his work as Producer on, The Phantom Machine (2021), his multi-award-winning screenplay, Zero Anima (2021), and, his original directorial debut, Together Apart (2022).

Director Statement Together Apart explores the nature of addiction. How it poisons the mind, corrupts relationships, and eats away at pieces of ourselves. Osha & Theo may be just one couple, but in reality, their story takes a thousand shapes.
